Former U.S. Ambassador to Mexico, U.S. Senator and Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar will bring his Colorado book tour to Poor Richard’s Books & Gifts in downtown Colorado Springs on Monday, Sept. 28, for an afternoon conversation and signing of his new book, Borderlands: My Fight for an Inclusive America.

The event will take place from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at Poor Richard’s Books & Gifts, 320 N. Tejon St. The event is free and open to the public, with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests will have an opportunity to hear from Salazar about the book and his experiences in public service, followed by a book sale and signing.

The Colorado Springs appearance follows a series of events across the country surrounding the release of Borderlands, including stops in Chicago, Washington, D.C., Miami, Los Angeles, Dallas and San Antonio.

A fifth-generation Coloradan, Salazar grew up on his family’s ranch in Colorado’s San Luis Valley. His public-service career has included serving as Colorado Attorney General, representing Colorado in the U.S. Senate, serving as U.S. Secretary of the Interior, and serving as U.S. Ambassador to Mexico from 2021 to 2025.
